Raw Honey
Collected from our local beehives in Doncaster, our honeybees have been busy at work producing the honey that we sell to you. There's no secret recipe, secret ingredient or mystical manufacturing process because we take the honey from the beehive and pour it into a jar. Simple!
The two important things to note are:
- we only harvest the surplus honey from our bees to ensure that they don't go hungry. So, before we take anything, we check the hives thoroughly to ensure that they have enough stores to feed their young through summer or to huddle up keep warm through the winter.
- When honeybees feel like their hive is full, they start to get the urge to swarm and move to a new bigger nest. This actually works similarly for honey because, when their honey stores are full, they have no work to do so, harvesting honey is just 1 component to preventing them from swarming.
